1. इस श्लोक के माध्यम से आचार्य चाणक्य कहते हैं कि यदि कहीं हिंसा भड़क जाए और एक साथ भीड़ हमला कर दे तो वहां से बचकर भागने में ही भलाई होती है क्योंकि भीड़ बेकाबू होती है और वो कुछ नहीं देखती. ऐसे हालातों में वहां से बचकर भागने में ही समझदारी है.
2. अगर आपका दुश्मन अचानक हमला कर दे, तो भी मौका पाकर वहां से सुरक्षित निकल जाना चाहिए क्योंकि बिना प्लानिंग के आप चाहकर भी उसका मुकाबला नहीं कर सकते. यदि अचानक आई इस स्थिति में बहादुरी दिखाने की कोशिश करोगे तो जान से भी हाथ धोना पड़ सकता है. ऐसी परिस्थिति में मौके से भागने में ही भलाई है.
3. जिस स्थान पर अकाल पड़ जाए, वहां अन्न के एक-एक दाने को लोग तरस जाते हैं. समझदारी इसी में है कि आप जल्द से जल्द उस स्थान को छोड़कर चले जाएं. ऐसे स्थान पर लंबे समय तक जीवित रहना बहुत मुश्किल होता है.
4. यदि कोई ऐसा व्यक्ति आपके पास आकर खड़ा हो जाए जो अपराधी हो, या उसका कोई मान-सम्मान न हो, तो आपको उस स्थान से चला जाना चाहिए. ऐसे लोगों के साथ खड़े होने से भी आपकी छवि धूमिल होगी और आपके मान-सम्मान में फर्क पड़ेगा.
